Secret Sparrow of Northern Thickets

Overview

Lincoln's Sparrow are rarely seen, secretive birds that breed mostly in moist, shrubby coniferous woodlands in the northern part of Vermont. They are similar to the much more common Song Sparrow, but are slightly smaller, have more defined streaks, and have a yellowish chest.

Conservation

While uncommon, Lincoln's Sparrows have a stable population but are threatened by warmer temperatures damaging their limited habitat.
